I started a portrait of my granddaughter. I knew it needed more work, but sometimes I am afraid I am going to make a subject look worse instead of better, so I took a photo of this stage. The thing I don't like about oil painting is - there is no control-Z function! Once you make a mistake you live with it or correct it - you can't undo it.













Here I have worked on it a second time, moving the eyes further apart and adding darks and lights. It is still a long ways to go and I like some things about the first one better, but as Helen Van Wyk says "Make it, break it, and make it again." So I will forge ahead.

Just off the easel

I just finished a picture I started last year of my grandkids at the beach. It is 11 x 14 in oils. It was fun to do the water. I don't think i will ever get tired of painting these kids.

Painted Aprons

I painted these aprons for my grand kids, ages 6, 4 and 3. They were so quick and such fun to do. I did two of the girl cat with the cookies and added glitter. I plan to have a painting packet with instructions available soon. The plain aprons with the ruffle are available at Hobby Lobby and the straight canvas apron at Michael's Crafts. They were a hit with the children.
